Dental Bridges

A porcelain fixed bridge is a non-removable dental appliance used to replace missing teeth. When a patient experiences tooth lose it may be difficult to chew, other teeth may shift from their proper position and they may have difficulty speaking properly. A fixed bridge will correct those problems and let you smile again. During treatment, the two teeth on either side of the missing tooth, the anchor or abutment teeth, will receive crowns. The new artificial tooth will be attached to the crowns, filling the space and creating a beautiful smile. Bridge treatment require several visits to our office. During the first visit your dentist will prepare the anchor teeth for crowns, take an impression or mold of the area so your new bridge can be fabricated. A temporary bridge will be made and fitted. At your next visit the fixed bridge will be fitted and then cemented into place. Your dentist will check your bite to ensure proper fit and comfort. Your new porcelain fixed bridge should give you the look and feel of natural teeth. Proper brushing and flossing as well as maintaining regular dental visits will help your teeth, including your bridge, stay healthy.
