Dental Vaneers

Veneers are very thin pieces of tooth shaped porcelain custom fitted to your teeth. Veneers are used to correct cosmetic imperfections such as crooked, discolored or misshapen teeth. They are very effective in creating a uniform, white smile and can completely cover chips, stains and uneven teeth. Veneer treatment usually takes two office visits. During the first the teeth are prepared by lightly buffing and shaping them to allow for the thickness of the veneer. An impression or mold of the teeth is taken and the tooth color or shade will be determined.

On your second visit your teeth will be cleansed and prepared so a long lasting bond between the teeth and the veneers can be made. Your dentist will use dental bonding cement to attach the veneer to each tooth, using a special light treatment to set and harden the bond. You will receive special instructions on caring for your veneers. Good daily oral hygiene habits and a healthy diet will help you maintain your beautiful smile for a lifetime!
